Creperie on MacDougal Owns Bobby Flay!

As a follow up to my initial review on my new neighbor, Creperie on MacDougal, I was back to the colorful spot recently, this time to check out the breakfast presentation. I went with a ham, egg and swiss crepe that was large as the plate, and came with a small coffee, all for the more than pleasing price of $5. This was absolutely awesome, so much so, that I went back 2 hours later and got another one. Meghan opted for something more "lunch-like", getting yet another Raspberry compote creation, this time mixed with sexy Nutella. Sweet and tart, Creperie once again rather impressively hit the spot for me. This place is on point.

The ingredients are fresh, and thankfully, are used with a heavy-hand, which makes for a breakfast crepe that rivaled any early morning burrito I've had in recent years.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Hava, the jocular, animated woman who owns the place (as well as the original Creperie in the Lower East Side). She was warm, inviting, and open to laughing at my silly jokes. Most important, she was very much keen on making sure we enjoyed our food, and the overall experience in general; this was impressive and is a testament to what sort of place Creperie is. Furthemore, and perhaps most interestingly, Hava, in her heavy accent asked, "Have you heard of Bouuuuby Flay?" "I haawd a trowdoon with heem". It turns out, Hava was recently featured on an episode of "Throwdown" with Bobby Flay, where she was challenged to make, what else, but crepes. Much to my pleasure, she informed us her crepes were voted better than those of Mr. Flay, and scheduled to air in September, I'll be sure to tune into this one to see that one! Outstanding!

Great job Hava!
